Graham Coghill - Coach
Graham Coghill has been coaching wrestling for over 30 years. At Chanel, he has helped lead the team to 4 high school state championship titles along with 6 runner-up titles. He has compiled an amazing dual meet record of 237-100-3. He has produced 24 state champions, 141 state qualifiers, 100 state placers and three high school All-American during his coaching career at the school.
Honors include 1997 Ohio Division III Coach of the Year State of Ohio, 2001 Greater Cleveland Division III Coach of the Year, 2002 Ohio High School Wrestling Hall of Fame, Chanel High School Hall of Fame and for his many years of service to wrestling at Chanel, the wrestling room was dedicated and named in his honor. In 1986, he brought the youth wrestling program to Chanel. His dedication, patience and knowledge of the sport have made Mr. Coghill one of the best coaches in the state of Ohio.

Tim Rutherford - Coach
Tim began as an assistant coach in 1974 for the Longwood YMCA program before becoming head coach for Chanel's Junior Varsity squad and assistant to the Varsity team in 1985. Tim has been with the program since 1986 along with Mr. Coghill. In 2006, Tim was inducted into Chanel High Schools Society of St. Peter Chanel Hall of Fame. He is also teh recipient of the Greater Cleveland Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association Award of Merit. |

Larry Vance - Coach
Larry wrestled for Coach Coghill in the Longwood YMCA youth wrestling program. He is a division I state champion and second place finisher. He graduated from Nordonia High Scool. Larry has been a coach with the Chanel program for many years.
In 2006, Larry was inducted into Chanel High Schools Society of St. Peter Chanel Hall of Fame. |

Jason Walters - Coach
Jason started wrestling in 1985 for Streetsboro Jr. high. He wrestled through high school untill graduating in 1990. He then went into the marine corps in 1990 and wrestled and power lifted in 1992-1994. In 1999, his son Cody started wrestling for the firebirds youth team and Jason began coaching. 2001 he began coaching for the Chanel high school team and is the upper weight coach and strength coach. He also coaches football at Chanel. Jason lives in Macedonia with wife Michele and kids Cody and Amanda.

Mike Kovach - Coach
Mike is a former Maple Heights wrestler and coach. He served eighteen years as Head Youth wrestling coach at Maple Heights as well as coaching at the Middle School and Freshman level. He served as Varsity High School Assistant Coach throughout this period and helped produce many state champs, qualifiers and placers.
Mike is the recipient of the Greater Cleveland Wrestling Coaches and Official Award of Merit. |
